For the 3rd consecutive year, the CPAFI hosted the Annual Commissioner’s Clay Shoot. These past two years, the event has been held at the beautiful championship venue of Cool Springs Education Center in Velpen, IN. With each year, the participation continues to grow and this year was no exception. The morning shoot was doubled-filled on multiple shooting stands and the afternoon shoot had a record number of participants. Plaques and highly valuable (event related) prizes were awarded for both the morning and afternoon shoots to IDOC and Non-IDOC teams.
A huge thank you goes out to the ownership and staff of Cool Springs, each of our sponsors, and of course, all of the volunteers. A special thank you also goes out to the coordinators of the event Kevin Orme, Jessica Wiliams, and Nicole DeCellisArb. All of whom made this event the largest ever. Stay tuned for our September 2025 date and event information to be announced.
The 2024 Softball Tournament concluded with an impressive victory by Indiana State Prison, marking a memorable moment in CPAFI history. The team showcased outstanding teamwork, perseverance, and athletic skill, ultimately securing the championship title. Their journey to the top was filled with challenging games, but their dedication paid off in the final game where they triumphed against Wabash Valley, 16 to 6. Congratulations to Indiana State Prison for their hard-earned win and to all the teams for making this year's tournament an exciting and competitive event.
The tournament ran smoothly, with great weather throughout the day with all teams performing at a high level. Unfortunately, we had two players injured, IR and Miami. We wish them both a speedy recovery. Despite these challenges, the spirit of the competition and camaraderie shone through, making the 2024 Softball Tournament a true success.
